This document provides details about our privacy policy, including what information we collect and how we use it. We are very concerned about your privacy. Please read this document carefully to make sure that you understand how we handle personal information at spinapse.com.

A SPECIAL NOTE FOR KIDS AND PARENTS

Spinapse is a web site for people of all ages. We are committed to complying fully with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We are a "general audience" site and we design our content for adults and kids. Therefore, we don't collect information about the ages of our visitors and we don't ask for parent approval before letting visitors play our games, send postcards, or sign up for our newsletter.

We take the issue of child privacy very seriously. We recommend that children talk to their parents about online privacy and ask permission before submitting any information online. For more details about children's privacy and COPPA, please visit http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/edcams/kidzprivacy/index.html.

WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

We try to limit the amount of information that we collect from visitors to our web site. Under certain circumstances, we do collect information from our visitors. Each section below explains these circumstances in detail.

GAMES AND CONTESTS

When you play one of our games, you are not required to enter any personal information to play. If you want to submit your score and become eligible for a prize, we ask that you submit a screen name and your email address. Please note that your screen name should not be your real name -- it is the name that people will see displayed on the Worldwide Scoreboard. We suggest using a nickname (such as "Top Dog") or your first name and last initial (such as "Gina L.").

We save your email address to notify you if you win a contest. This is the one and only purpose for which we use the email address that you submit at the end of the game. We don't sell, distribute, or disclose it to 3rd-party marketers, we don't use it to send you our newsletter, we don't use it for anything but prize notification. And we don't display your email address on the Worldwide Scoreboard or any other public place.

If you win a contest, we will notify you by email and ask for your mailing address so that we can send you the prize. If you are under 18 years of age or are a minor (as determined by the laws of state or province of residence), we will ask for your parents'/Legal Guardian's email address instead. We will then send email to your parents'/ Legal Guardian's to ask for their permission and their mailing address so that we can send them the prize.

NEWSLETTER

When you sign up for our newsletter, we ask for your name and email address. We use your email address to send you a newsletter about Spinapse prizes, products, updates, and other Spinapse news. We do not sell, distribute, or disclose your email address to any 3rd-party or use it in any way other than to send you the newsletter. With each newsletter, we include easy instructions for unsubscribing to the newsletter. And we try not to flood your email box with frequent versions of our newsletter. Currently, the newsletter comes out about once every three months.

POSTCARDS

When you send a Spinapse postcard, you enter your name, your email address, and the email addresses of the people that you want to send the postcard to. The postcard is then sent to the Spinapse servers, which route the card to the appropriate people. Immediately after routing, the postcard and all of its personal information are deleted. We don't store this information and we don't use it for anything except sending your postcards.

LOG INFORMATION

When you play our games, visit our web pages, and send postcards, we keep track of non-personal information that is not associated with you as an individual. This includes things like the number of postcards sent by all visitors on a particular day, the number of people playing the different games, the number of minutes spent playing the games, etc. We use this information to understand what our audience likes best, to know how many people are visiting our site, and to improve the quality of the content on our site. This information does not include names, email addresses, mailing addresses, or any other personal data.

If you purchase the full version of one of our games, you'll need to enter a registration number that we provide at the time of purchase. When you play the full version of the game and submit your score to the Worldwide Scoreboard, we track your score and your registration number. This helps us to limit the amount of cheating and is not used for any other tracking purpose.

PRODUCT REGISTRATION

If you register a Spinapse product, we ask that you enter your name, email address, and registration number. We use this information to verify the identity of the user who purchased the product and to provide product support and important updates to Spinapse products. We will not sell or distribute this information to any third parties.

ONLINE STORE

If you purchase a product at the Spinapse Store, we ask that you enter your name, address, phone number, email address, and credit card information. We use this information to send you products that you've ordered, to follow-up on any issues with the transaction, and to verify your registration information when providing technical support. The transaction is processed on authenticated secure servers.
